Chuck Brown Memorial Park
A civic venue in Langdon Park celebrates Washington, D.C.’s “Godfather of Go-Go,” Chuck Brown. A custom tile photo mosaic showcases Brown in legendary form. The public can explore his life and career by means of an interactive discography on aluminum panels. Nearby, a circular venue with lawn seating hosts intimate outdoor concerts.
There are drums for children’s enjoyment. Even the landscape captures the essence of the musical icon with symbolic regional plantings. These include Crepe Myrtle, Magnolia, Oak, Cypress, Cherry, Maple, Birch, Elm, evergreen trees, and a rain garden.
