Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) in Prince George’s County, MD, is one of the nation’s largest school districts. A repeat MOYA client, the district is recognized for its innovative programs and initiatives including arts integration, environmental and financial literacy, and language immersion. With in-person graduation ceremonies cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PGCPS moved to virtual formats to honor the graduating high school class of 2020. MOYA was hired to work on two initiatives for this special occasion: an e-invitation for the graduation ceremony and yard signs and banners honoring the PGCPS graduates.
MOYA’s visual design team created an invitation for 2020’s online graduation celebration. PGCPS alumni spoke at this event, with actress Taraji P. Henson as the commencement speaker. Consistent with our previous work for PGCPS, the colors and graphics for this invitation use the district’s official branding. Vibrant blue and yellow color blocks organize all the important information, while carefully chosen typefaces ensure each point is emphasized and maintain a balanced composition.
MOYA integrated graduation caps into the design of the yard signs and banners. To differentiate between each individual PGCPS high school, the color schemes were tailored to each school’s distinct identity. To celebrate this milestone, homes with PGCPS graduates proudly displayed these signs on their front lawns or balconies.
