Revitalize Reeves Website

In 2020, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) signed a letter of intent with the District of Columbia to move their national headquarters to Washington, DC. In 2021, MOYA became part of the Legacy Community Partners’ (LCP) project to revitalize the Franklin D Reeves Center. MOYA’s Architecture team is responsible for designing two components of LCP’s vision: the Franklin D Reeves Center Office Building and the Moxy Hotel.
After DMPED shortlisted LCP‘s vision, the MOYA visual design team developed the branding, social media campaign, and website for the ensuing community engagement process. In close collaboration with Asset Management Consulting, the MOYA social media and marketing team created an engaging campaign that highlighted the local roots of LCPs members and their connections to the historic Black Broadway and the U-Street corridor. In addition, the team showcased LCPs initiatives for the revitalization of the Franklin D Reeves Center through local organizations and Black and Brown ownership.

Our VD team created the website’s outline, highlighting the redevelopment plan, team members, and the five pillars that lead to the anticipated success of this revitalization strategy. Custom infographics were integrated into the different pages to make the data and information eye-catching to the reader. The color palette was selected to pay homage to the Black and Brown firms that comprised the LCP team. Finally, MOYA and Asset Management Consulting created a heartshaped logo that evokes the central place U-Street has in revitalizing the community.
