Unlocking Inclusion

Special Olympics commissioned ‘Unlocking Inclusion’ — an interactive exhibit to promote the Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools program at San Diego’s 2019 UCS Conference and the prestigious SXSW EDU Conference in Austin, TX. Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools promotes sports and leadership opportunities for students with and without intellectual disabilities. At both conference venues, visitors opened school lockers to peek into the lives of real students with and without intellectual disabilities and learn how together they’re creating a Unified Generation.

In addition to the exhibit’s concept, structure, and LED look, Moya Design Partners’ visual design team created its content, branding, and the accompanying Unified Generation Tribune exhibit guide. MOYA populated each locker with colorful and engaging graphics, multimedia and photo illustrations to enhance students’ recorded stories about how the Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools program strengthens schools and promotes inclusion. Our team worked closely with Special Olympics on editing and graphic design for The Unified Generation Tribune exhibit guide. Conceived together as a comprehensive conference branding package, the exhibit and guide told the history of Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools and its mission to provide each and every student with opportunities to gain competency, demonstrate dignity, and contribute to the community.
