Paola Moya is a visionary leader driven by innovative designs, collaborative environments and thoughtful placemaking. As the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Moya Design Partners, she is in charge of setting the strategy, direction, culture and brand of the company, she oversees the studio’s operations and enjoys building teams. Paola is active in the design, evolution and life of every project. She has an eclectic array of design expertise, that encompasses architecture, interiors, product and visual design. Paola’s client-centered and methodical approach has not only earned the trust and loyalty of clients, but also contributed to her esteemed reputation in the industry.
Paola brings almost 15 years of business leadership and design experience to her new enterprise, which she founded in 2017. Before forming her own company, Paola led her previous firm Marshall Moya Design towards a successful expansion into new architectural markets outside the D.C. Metropolitan region, diversified the firm’s portfolio, cultivated strategic relationships, oversaw operations and elevated its profile in the architecture world. Under Paola’s leadership, the firm won some of the most influential and renowned projects in the city.
The Washington Business Journal recognized Paola as one of the region’s “Power 100 Playmakers,” a top “40 Under 40” professional and a “Minority Business Leader of the Year.” She was also named “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” by both the D.C. and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She serves on a number of boards, including the D.C. Building Industry Association, Montgomery Housing Partnership and is very active with the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Her work has been recognized with international, national and local design excellence awards from The American Institute of Architects (national and D.C. chapters), The National Organization of Minority Architects, Graphic Design USA, International Design Awards for product design and Built by Women (Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation). Paola is a frequently sought speaker, presenting on numerous occasions at local and national AIA chapters, the ULI and the National Building Museum.
Paola earned a master’s degree in architecture with a real estate development concentration, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from The Catholic University of America. She also holds a finance certification from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School Executive Education program.
Paola enjoys her hobbies outside of work which includes finding new salsa dancing venues, cultivating her love of martial arts, and discovering new rhythms and flavors in different corners of the world. She also enjoys her newfound passion for running, although she says it is coming along slowly!

Brian Taylor is a Principal and Director of Architecture at Moya Design Partners, where he manages the lifecycle of the firm’s architectural projects with a keen eye for quality control and technical compliance. Due to his attention to detail and methodical project management throughout every phase, the company's deliverables are not only successful but also thoroughly accomplished. His goal in every project is the integration of thoughtful design with the realistic constraints of construction and economics. This balance is achieved through careful coordination with consultants, as well as close communication with clients and builders throughout the successful completion of each project. Brian is known for completing technically complex projects with high quality execution and timeliness. As a result of his business and architectural background, he views each assignment as a unique opportunity to exceed client expectations, and applies his 25 years of diverse architectural experience to deliver outstanding projects.
Brian is a LEED Accredited Professional and licensed architect in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. His experience spans a diverse array of building types including residential, commercial, educational and industrial projects. In his experience at Edgewood Properties, one of New Jersey’s largest private developers, he led a staff of architects, engineers and interior designers in the design and construction of large-scale, mixed-use residential developments, as well as commercial office and retail projects that were part of the development portfolio. Notable projects include Somerville Town Center, consisting of 190,000 square feet of retail over 250 apartments; Fairway Town Center, a mixed-use development consisting of four mixed-use buildings that contain 80,000 square feet of retail and 164 apartments, as well as 96 condominiums, 104 townhomes and a 5,000 square foot clubhouse; and Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, a 8,500 square foot, 180-seat classic steakhouse restaurant with an international presence.
Brian is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the American Institute of Architects at national, state and local levels. Brian grew up in New Jersey and received his Bachelor of Architecture and MBA from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. As the Design Principal at Moya Design Partners, Federico Olivera-Sala knows how to deliver a developer’s big idea while navigating the complexities, finite details and nuances that come with any large-scale project. With over two decades of experience in urban planning with multi-family residential projects, he understands the context of urban mixed-use developments and has the vision to push boundaries while working within regulations and code requirements to make it work. Federico always has a pulse on what the market demands, and he executes beautiful designs that attract and delight patrons, while maximizing the return on the owner’s investment.
He oversees the creative design process from conception through construction. He directs a team of architects and manages the firm’s design philosophy, while also ensuring clients’ needs are met. In addition to performing feasibility studies, pushing design boundaries, embracing best practices, and staying abreast of building and zoning regulations and processes, his responsibilities also include promoting the firm regionally as well as carefully selecting the next generation of architects. Federico has over 25 years of experience, including specialized expertise in complex mixed-use projects, building design, urban design, and regional planning.
Over the past decade, his projects have also included urban infill, including restoring the eroded urban tissue of Washington, D.C., as well as urban planning in major metropolitan areas from New York to Florida. Some of his large-scale projects in the D.C. area include The Darcy & The Flats in Bethesda, The Apollo on H Street, Fenwick in Silver Spring, The Parker in Alexandria, 2 Eye Street, Dock 79 across from the National’s Stadium, Jenkins Row in Southeast D.C., Mass Court Apartments in Northwest D.C., Carlyle Block O in Alexandria, The Central in Silver Spring, The Halstead in Fairfax, Chase Point Condos in Friendship Heights, The Monty in Bethesda, Sheridan Station in Southeast D.C., and 800 New Jersey Avenue. Ligia Saldana is a senior architect at Moya Design Partners, where she ensures the firm’s projects are exquisitely designed, respectful of time and budget constraints, and meet both the client’s vision and needs of the end users. As a project leader and team player, Ligia maintains close communication with all parties involved in each project, coordinating with clients, builders and consultants alike. With 25 years of experience working on a wide array of municipal, educational, commercial and institutional projects, Ligia’s diverse experience allows her to anticipate potential obstacles and proactively propose the best course of action. She understands that each project brings a unique set of challenges, but she is solution-focused, while keeping the client’s needs first and foremost throughout the project. Ligia is a licensed architect (Puerto Rico) and has a certification from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ligia received her Bachelors of Architecture from Cornell University. Outside of work, she enjoys camping with her sons, playing tennis and reading. Ligia considers raising her three sons her life’s project! Although she was a Girl Scout gold medalist in her childhood, as an adult she became a Cub Scout Master of the local pack while her sons were involved.

Marilaura Guerrero is a Project Designer who brings six years of impressive design experience in mixed‑use and multi‑family designs, as well as defining cost-effective yet stunning interiors. At Moya Design Partners, she collaborates with the architectural team to produce dynamic designs that focus on problem solving while achieving the client’s vision. Marilaura also leads the coordination efforts between consultants and supports the project team by delivering a comprehensive set of project drawings and construction documents. She knows every project is distinct and values the opportunity to contribute to her city’s built environment.
Marilaura is originally from Puerto Rico received a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Universidad de Puerto Rico and a Masters of Architecture from Savannah College of Art and Design. She says that being in nature always makes her feel rejuvenated and nothing gets her more excited than watching live music performances in unexpected places. Two fun facts about Marilaura, that her friends and architect husband know well, are that she has trouble walking and texting at the same time and she never eats all of her vegetables!

Cristina Alvarez is a project architect at Moya Design Partners where she uses extensive base building experience to build models and layout interiors for buildings, additions, renovations, and adaptive reuse. From residential units, lobbies and common areas to amenities and back-of-house services, Cristina collaborates with project MEP, civil and structural engineers from schematic design through construction drawings. Cristina enjoys handling, coordinating and detailing with all the other disciplines involved in a project and integrating their input into the design. She has materials selection and research expertise and experience delivering major projects under deadline.
Cristina has a Universal Design Certification from the Virginia Housing Development Authority and a combined Bachelor and Master of Architecture and Urban Design from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Belgrano, Buenos Aires. A fun fact about Cristina is she won ‘best costume’ in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Interior Design Association’s annual Cosmo Couture fashion show in 2016 and 2018!

Adrian Saunders is a Project Manager at Moya Design Partners. He has 12 years of design experience working with federal, local and private clients. Adrian works with the MOYA team to manage and implement architecture, interior design, graphic design, web design and WordPress development projects for a variety of clients. Adrian brings with him expertise in collaborating with government and private clients and has a strong eye for details.
Adrian currently resides in Silver Spring, MD, with his wife, daughters and dog. He grew up with Caribbean-born parents in the Washington Metropolitan area and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Catholic University. When he is not working, he loves technology, sci-fi and having fun in the sun with his family.

Mariia Voloshyna brings over ten years of experience to her role as an architect on projects in the Ukraine, U.S., and Europe for hotels, restaurants, offices, private houses, urban mixed-use developments, and health care. Mariia is skilled with master planning and creating primary designs and working drawings for diverse applications. At Moya Design Partners, Mariia develops conceptual designs for residential and public buildings, urban structures, and landscapes. She completes 3D modeling and visualizations for all our client’s needs, including green building analysis. Mariia is an open-minded, goal-oriented team player who takes pride in constructive communication and effective project management. She especially enjoys learning new languages and traveling!
Mariia holds a Master of Architectural Design from the Kharkov State Technical University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. She continually updates her skills through professional development courses at the University of Pennsylvania.

Magdalena Lancman is a professional architect with expert leadership skills in the development of technical files for projects of up to 1.3 million SF. She has many years of experience in applications for the production of technical documents and project details. Design of BIM strategies and efficient work plans for complex project teams is Magdalena’s specialty, with BIM courses and implementations. At Moya Design Partners, Magdalena provides file coordination and design of technical files executed in both Revit and AutoCAD. She has provided BIM coordination for various studies for the U.S. and Australian markets, diagramming workflow, quality control, project management, leadership, and work team management schemes for teams of up to 10 people. Magdalena has been the client contact for contract management and has applied knowledge of project budget calculations.
Magdalena studied architecture at the National University of Córdoba. She is a technical leader in REVIT and AUTOCAD and uses PRESTO for project budget calculations. Magdalena is fluent in Spanish, Polish, and English. She feels most at home in the mountains.

Pedro Ruiz Funes is an architect working in residential small-scale, as well as medium- and large-scale projects of all kinds. He has been responsible for the full range of development from design to construction, including executive project management. Pedro enjoys the business side of architecture, having been the business contact for clients on multiple projects. He is an ‘ideas founder’ who has taught both architecture and design. At Moya Design Partners, Pedro prepares drawings for internal studies and for clients with advanced skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and VRay.
Pedro has wide experience with architecture competitions. His awards include 1st prize for the Square Municipality of Carlos Paz; 2nd prize for the Rizzuto Museum; 3rd in the Aerosilla Income Arc award for the municipality of Carlos Paz; 1st prize CEC Design of José de Nazaret School in an informal settlement; 1st honorable mention as a collaborator in the national contest for the new headquarters of the College of Architects of Río Cuarto; and 2nd prize in the ASTORI AWARDS Ideas Competition for the development of a school in Barrio Alta Córdoba.
Pedro studied architecture at the Catholic University of Córdoba and the Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio in Madrid. He loves traveling and having local experiences.

Florencia Merguerian is an architect at Moya Design Partners who has led public works projects such as schools, municipal sports centers, and libraries; bank projects for Santander, Itaú, and Original; and projects for multinational companies Unilever, Bayer, and Otis. She has specialized expertise in logistics and warehouses, graphic design projects in clothing, and industrial design of objects. Florencia has worked on residential small-scale, medium- and large-scale architecture projects, including design, graphic design, project management and details. She is an experienced professional in the development of public, industrial, banking, residential and commercial works.
Florencia studied architecture at the National University of Córdoba and undertook postgraduate studies in Geography, City and Architecture at the FAU-USP Faculdade de Arquitetura de São Paulo. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese with technical skills in REVIT, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Draw, SketchUp, and VRay for SketchUp. Florencia considers Brazil her second home.

Roman Hrimnak has over seven years of increasingly responsible experience providing working documentation, functional building schemes, and presentation drawings for multiple architecture projects. He has worked on plans, structure, and details, and has participated in the development of conceptual designs for residential and public buildings, urban structures, and landscape design. Roman’s skills include 3D modeling and visualization for working drawings and approvals. Some recent projects Roman has worked on include the Kupfer-Palais-Essen in Germany, a Catholic church in Calgary, Canada, and the Lafayette project in Paris, France.
Roman holds a master’s degree in architectural design from Lviv Polytechnic National University. His software skills include AutoCAD and Revit. He’s a ‘techie’ who loves to learn new features for software, and he’s a professional snowboarder! Roman is the heart and soul of every party; he knows thousands of stories for all occasions.

Juliia Halycha is an architect/designer with five years of experience in the field. She has worked on projects in Ukraine, Europe, and North America, including the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Lviv, the Kupfer-Palais-Essen in Germany, and a Catholic church in Calgary, Canada. Juliia’s skills include concept design and working drawings for residential projects, public buildings, and urban structures. She works on interior and exterior visualizations and modeling of BIM objects. Juliia has skills in landscape design and point cloud scan-based modeling. She works well both independently and as part of a team while striving to be as ﬂexible and communicative as possible.
Juliia holds a master’s degree in architectural design from Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ukraine, and completed the Autodesk Authorized Training Center course in Autodesk Revit Architecture. Her software skills include Revit, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3ds MAX + Corona, and Photoshop. Juliia was a dancer in the past and later pursued guitar classes. She fell in love with snowboarding this year after the first try, loves alpinism and traveling. She also paints in watercolor.

Bohdan Shuliar has worked on a variety of European and North American architecture projects, including private houses, offices, and shopping centers. His experience with point clouds, interior design, and engineering allows him to create sketches, work drawings, technical drawings, 3D renderings, and complex BIM models for diverse building types. Bohdan is a progressive worker with particular style. He knows each project is unique and gives maximum attention to each aspect of the job to produce work that is both accurate and detailed. Bohdan’s projects have included Pasiky House, Lviv, and point cloud BIM modeling for Lafayette in Paris, France, and Bouchaud Henri IV.
Bohdan holds a master’s degree in architectural design from Lviv Polytechnic National University and completed the Autodesk Authorized Training Center course in Autodesk Revit Architecture. His CAD skills include Revit, Dynamo, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Twin Motion, Lumion, ReCap, and Photoshop. Bodhan enjoys chess, heavy metal, and collectible card games like Magic: The Gathering.

Carlos Arias is a project designer at Moya Design Partners with technical skills in REVIT and advanced skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, and V-Ray for SketchUp. He is a SET ideas founder working on residential architecture and residential small-scale development. Carlos has experience with executive project management, details and construction. He is an award-winning designer who has captured first prize for a Square for the Municipality of Carlos Paz, first Prize for the CEC Design of José de Nazaret school, second prize for the Rizzuto Museum for the municipality of Carlos Paz, first honorable mention in a contest for the new headquarters of the College of Architects of Río Cuarto with the architects Marco Rampula and Ricardo Sargiotti, and third prize as a collaborator for the construction of the new Paseo Güemes with the architects Gustavo Gonzales, Manuel Gonzales, Adrian Manavella and Guillermo Vegas.
Carlos is an architecture graduate of the Catholic University of Córdoba and has worked as a teaching assistant at Cathedra Architecture Design III and V. A fun fact about Carlos is that he loves winter sports!

Julieta Martinez is a project architect at Moya Design Partners with technical skills in REVIT, advanced AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and V-Ray for 3ds Max. A recent graduate in architecture from the National University of Córdoba, Julieta has work experience with executive architecture projects. Julieta works with the MOYA team to prepare technical documents, project details and drawings for internal studies. She supports the team with drawings for clients. A fun fact about Julieta is that she has the biggest cactus collection!

Elisabetta Fanelli is a Graphic Designer at Moya Design Partners, where she develops and designs stunning branded elements, unique editorial pieces and striking digital artwork. She also contributes to digital communications, including the planning, strategy and tactics for the firm’s social media channels. Elisabetta approaches her work with a combination of methodical structure, efficiency and creative flair, preferring to sketch designs by hand before translating her concepts into digital format. Her extensive educational background and seven years of impressive design experience allow her to deliver compelling art in all forms, from print designs and branded materials, to web and logo designs.
Originally from Italy, she earned an Executive Masters in Social Media Marketing and Web Communication from IULM University in Milan; received a master’s degree in Architecture from Dessau Institute of Architecture in Germany; completed an Erasmus Exchange in Parametric Architecture from Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris; obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Architecture from Politecnico di Milano in Milan; and completed an Erasmus Mundus Exchange from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City. In her spare time, she likes to teach yoga and practice meditation to stay grounded. Elisabetta also loves to spend time in nature, cook wholesome meals and travel the world. A fun fact about Elisabetta is she started elementary school when she was only four years old and could already read!

Romina Pereyra is a graphic designer with 10 years of experience in advertising agencies and design studios. Romina has a special passion for illustration, especially poster design. As well as being influenced by the history of Polish graphic design, she continues her professional development by attending workshops and classes in contemporary illustration practice. At Moya Design Partners, Romina supports our visual design team with logo design, proposal design, and graphic design for our clients’ marketing and corporate communications. On each project, Romina strives to find the right balance between good design and the perfect message.
Romina graduated from the University of Buenos Aires. She’s a vegan who loves animals and is very fond of soccer, sharing initials with her most-loved team, River Plate! Romina also loves traveling and rock concerts, and if both come together, that’s even better.

Catalina Losada Salgado has more than 12 years of experience in graphic and creative design. She is a highly competent art director and strategic communicator qualified to coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams. With a high sense of responsibility and commitment, Catalina is always in search of excellence and resolution of the objectives to be achieved. She has worked for several publishing houses and magazines in the private sector and specializes in editorial design: magazines, books, and all kinds of print collateral. Catalina is an expert in branding and visual identity—design thinking, branding, logos and advertising for all your print and publishing needs.
In her free time, Catalina enjoys practicing Buddhist meditation and yoga. But her biggest artistic hobbies are lettering and embroidery.

Jhonny Güechá is a visual communicator with 10+ years of experience in digital multimedia design. Jhonny has extensive knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and graphic design. With specialized skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, he can handle every step of your project with brilliant motion graphics. At Moya Design Partners, Jhonny develops original animations according to each project’s unique art concept. He brings expertise in corporate videos, documentaries, short films, music videos, and other artistic and social projects. Jhonny is a straightforward collaborator who strives to find your perfect design solution.
Jhonny loves music and a natural style of life. He runs a family classic hip-hop project called Versopesado with his wife and young son, presenting educational workshops in schools and communities. A fun fact about Jhonny is he used to draw sequential art in the corners of his school notebooks. Although his teacher didn't like it too much, those were his first animations at elementary school!
Jhonny is a graduate of the Visual Communicator program at the Digital Design Center (DDC) in Caracas, Venezuela.

Valentina Pérez Estévez is an architect with a passion for urban regeneration, remodeling, and interior design. Her extensive knowledge of graphic design for architecture allows her to visualize exteriors, interiors, and landscapes with both accuracy and sensitivity. At Moya Design Partners, Valentina supports our visual design and architecture teams with drawings, graphics, modeling, and 3D visualization.
She’s a proactive, responsible, and committed collaborator who sees each project as an opportunity to improve lives through architecture. Valentina feels fortunate to have a twin sister. When the two started university, it was fun to explain to everyone that they were two different students attending classes at the same time, not one ‘super girl’ traveling through time!

Erika Ross is a communications professional and editor with international experience writing for art & design. At Moya Design Partners, Erika develops blog content and makes sure our corporate communications are accurate, consistent, and complete. She fact checks URLs, quotations, timelines, and visual material, ensuring that nothing has been left out. Erika consults with our clients on content and style, proofreads our visual designs, and works on final production editing. She cares about your business and puts her skills to work to make your copy shine.
Erika studied communications at Ithaca College and holds an MA in Art History & Visual Culture from the University of California, Riverside. She taught art writing for 10+ years at the University of Toronto, Western University, and the Ontario College of Art & Design. A true arts lover, she’s also a painter and photographer and has sung mezzo-soprano roles in eight operas!

Olga Glioza is a Public Relations, Marketing and Brand Communications Associate at Moya Design Partners, where she works on strategies and tactics of promotion of the brand and its digital presence. Using her diverse experience in the areas of public relations, creative writing, art project management and social media, she works closely with all firm’s departments to present the ongoing and upcoming projects and connect Moya Design Partners with media outlets and partners in the design and architecture world. She also contributes to the planning and development of firm’s social media channels. Her approach to work is mixing creative inspiration with strict work ethics and punctuality.
Originally from Saint-Petersburg, Russia, Olga holds a Bachelor Degree in International Business and Trade from Xiamen University in China. Speaking four different languages (Russian, English, Spanish and Chinese), she lived and worked in several countries, mastering her professional skills in different areas. She loves traveling and exploring new places, dancing, painting and meeting up with her friends in different parts of the world.

Rada Turcanu is a Financial Accountant with over eight years of experience in the private and public sector (Big 4 alum). At Moya Design Partners, Rada takes care of bookkeeping, compliance, issuance of financial statements, HR and Operations. Rada loves to travel and discover new places, from the museum in a nearby town to eating at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Hawai’i, while collecting fridge magnets from every place she visits. (Her goal is to fill the fridge!) Rada loves to cook with wholesome ingredients and enjoy food with her loved ones.
Rada received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Santa Clara University with an accounting major, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Business/ Information Systems from De Anza College.
