Paola Moya is a visionary leader driven by innovative designs, collaborative environments, and thoughtful placemaking. As the founder and chief executive officer of Moya Design Partners, Paola is the company’s creative director in charge of setting the firm’s strategy, direction, culture and brand. She oversees the studio’s operations and enjoys building teams. Paola is active in the design, evolution, and life of every project. She is a multifaceted designer with expertise in the fields of architecture, interiors, product, and visual design.
Paola’s client-centered and methodical approach has not only earned the trust and loyalty of clients, it has also contributed to her esteemed reputation in the industry. Paola personally collaborates with clients to check progress and implement feedback quickly and effectively. She consults with residents, partners, and stakeholders to identify vision / scope / goals for each project. With in-person design charettes, web-based video feeds, and advanced technology, Paola is known for keeping communications open and live. In turn, she coordinates with each MOYA team member to ensure timely completion of required deliverables.

Paola is a frequently sought speaker at local and national AIA chapters, the Urban Land Institute, and the National Building Museum. She has served on the boards of the Montgomery Housing Partnership and the District of Columbia Building Industry Association. She earned a master’s degree in architecture with a real estate development concentration, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Catholic University of America and holds a finance certification from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School Executive Education program.
Paola enjoys her hobbies outside of work, which include finding new salsa dancing venues, cultivating her love of martial arts, and discovering new rhythms and flavors in different corners of the world. She enjoys her newfound passion for running, although she says it is coming along slowly!

Federico Olivera-Sala knows how to deliver a client’s vision from conception through construction while navigating the complexities, details, and nuances of urban mixed-use developments. With the vision to push boundaries while working within regulations and code requirements, Federico knows the pulse of market demands. He executes beautiful designs that both attract and delight clients while maximizing return on investment. In addition to performing feasibility studies, embracing best practices, and staying abreast of building processes, Federico’s responsibilities include promoting our firm regionally, as well as carefully selecting our next generation of architects.
Federico has over 25 years of specialized expertise in complex mixed-use projects, building design, urban design, and regional planning. His projects have focused on urban infill, including restoring the urban fabric of Washington, DC, as well as urban planning in major metro areas from New York to Florida. Brian Taylor is a principal and director of architecture at Moya Design Partners, where he manages the lifecycle of the firm’s architectural projects with a keen eye for quality control and technical compliance. Through careful coordination with cli¬ents, consultants, and builders, Brian’s project management skills ensure Moya Design Partners’ deliverables are both thorough and successful. Brian un¬derstands the role of thoughtful design within real-world constraints of con¬struction and finance. He is known for completing high-quality, technically complex projects with both timeliness and precision. Brian views each as¬signment as an opportunity to exceed client expectations. He applies his 25 years of architectural experience to deliver outstanding results.
Brian has commanded staffs of up to 25 architects, civil engineers, and in¬terior designers working on a range of large-scale projects. His experience spans a diverse array of building types, including mixed-use residential developments, as well as commercial offices, educational, industrial, and retail. Notable projects include Somerville Town Center, a 190,000 SF retail space over 250 apartments; Fairway Town Center, a mixed-use devel¬opment consisting of four buildings, 80,000 SF of retail, 164 apart¬ments, 96 condominiums, 104 townhomes, and a 5,000 SF clubhouse; and Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, an 8,500 SF, 180-seat, classic steakhouse restaurant with an international franchise.
Brian has been the project architect for several recent MOYA projects in Washington, DC, including interiors for Bright Beginnings, a free, full-day, year-round education center for children experiencing homelessness; architecture for Diane’s House, a four-story 42-unit, multifam¬ily, affordable housing complex for women in need; interiors for the new Downtown Day Services Center for individuals experiencing homeless¬ness; interiors for Bread for the World; and a workspace renovation and expansion for Paoli Law Firm, a leading DC immigration lawyer dedicated to serving new Americans with quality legal advice.
Brian grew up in New Jersey and received his Bachelor of Architecture and MBA from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the American Institute of Architects at the national, state, and local levels. In addition to spending his free time with his wife and four children, he enjoys traveling, flying his drone, learning about history, and coaching wrestling.

Ligia Saldana is a senior architect at Moya Design Partners, where she en¬sures the firm’s projects are exquisitely designed, respectful of time and budget, and meet both the client’s vision and the needs of end users. As a project leader and team player with 25 years of experience coordinating with clients, builders, and consultants, Ligia’s diverse background allows her to anticipate potential obstacles and proactively propose the best course of action. She is solution-focused, understanding that each project brings a unique set of challenges, while keeping the client’s needs first and foremost in mind.
Ligia has valuable experience with diverse building types. She worked on the restoration of the century historic marketplace in the heart of Ponce, Puerto Rico, the reuse and expansion of the old fire station next to the Teatro La Perla, and the Alvarado Library for UPR Ponce. Ligia supervised construction for the Fundación Biblioteca Rafael Hernandez Colon and was the project manager for the expansion of the Plaza Las Américas. She has led multidisciplinary teams through all phases of design and construction, been responsible for permitting, and has specialized expertise with adaptive preservation. Meeting client needs in an innovative fashion is a welcome challenge that motivates her to think outside the box.
Ligia has led the MOYA team on several projects in Washington, DC, and beyond, including the luxurious Spa at MGM Springfield; business interiors and environmental branding for the DowntownDC BID; interiors for the Downtown Day Services Center for individuals experiencing homelessness; workplace interiors for Bread for the World; and a workspace renovation and expansion for Paoli Law Firm. Ligia volunteers with Limbs for Haiti, a program uniting six professors and 60 second-year architecture students to expose them to the reality of designing in a devastated landscape while realizing the important role of architecture as a life-changing agent.
Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ligia received her Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University. Outside of work, she enjoys camping with her three sons, playing tennis, and reading. Ligia considers raising her sons her life’s project. As a Girl Scout gold medalist, she became a Cub Scout master while her sons were involved.

Cristina Alvarez is a project architect at Moya Design Partners where she uses extensive base building experience to build models and layout interiors for buildings, additions, renovations, and adaptive reuse. From residential units, lobbies and common areas to amenities and back-of-house services, Cristina collaborates with project MEP, civil and structural engineers from schematic design through construction drawings. Cristina enjoys handling, coordinating and detailing with all the other disciplines involved in a project and integrating their input into the design. She has materials selection and research expertise and experience delivering major projects under deadline.
Cristina has a Universal Design Certification from the Virginia Housing Development Authority and a combined Bachelor and Master of Architecture and Urban Design from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Belgrano, Buenos Aires. A fun fact about Cristina is she won ‘best costume’ in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Interior Design Association’s annual Cosmo Couture fashion show in 2016 and 2018!

Marilaura Guerrero is a project designer at Moya Design Partners with nine years of design experience in mixed-use and multifamily architecture as well as broad expertise developing cost-effective and stunning interiors. Marilaura uses her extensive project management skills to coordinate project consultants. She supports project teams by delivering comprehensive sets of drawings and construction documents and collaborates with the client to achieve the project vision. With advanced skills in dynamic problem solving, Marilaura knows every project is unique and values the opportunity to contribute to her city’s built environment. Nothing rejuvenates her more than blending nature and design to enhance well-being and sustainability in architecture.

Adrian Saunders is a project manager at Moya Design Partners with over 12 years of award-winning design experience for federal, local, and private clients. From digital communications to design and brand management, Adrian leads MOYA’s visual design team on graphic design, web design and WordPress development, as well as lending his extensive project management expertise to our architecture team.
With a strong eye for detail, Adrian’s technical skills include InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, offset and digital print procedures, XCode iOS app development, Salesforce administration, social media, Drupal 7, PHP, ArcGIS, qGIS, Blender3d, Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion, photography and videography. He has led architectural projects from institutional and commercial interiors to residential and specialized architecture.
Adrian has been the project manager for several recent MOYA projects, including interiors for the historic renovation of Douglass School in Loudoun County, VA, the DowntownDC BID office interiors renovation, and an interiors renovation for HR&A Advisors in Washington, DC. In addition to projects in DC and VA, Adrian also has architectural experience in California and South Carolina.
Adrian’s methodology is to sweat the details and meet the client’s needs every step of the way. He strives to keep open lines of communication, ensuring team interactions are frictionless, schedules and budgets are kept, and the client’s end product is functional as well as beautiful.
Adrian resides in Silver Spring, MD, with his wife, daughters, and dog. He grew up with Caribbean-born parents in the Washington Metropolitan Area and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Catholic University. When he is not working, he loves technology, sci-fi and having fun in the sun with his family.

Magdalena Lancman is a professional architect with expert leadership skills in the development of technical files for projects of up to 1.3 million SF. She has many years of experience in applications for the production of technical documents and project details. Design of BIM strategies and efficient work plans for complex project teams is Magdalena’s specialty, with BIM courses and implementations. At Moya Design Partners, Magdalena provides file coordination and design of technical files executed in both Revit and AutoCAD. She has provided BIM coordination for various studies for the U.S. and Australian markets, diagramming workflow, quality control, project management, leadership, and work team management schemes for teams of up to 10 people. Magdalena has been the client contact for contract management and has applied knowledge of project budget calculations.
Magdalena studied architecture at the National University of Córdoba. She is a technical leader in REVIT and AUTOCAD and uses PRESTO for project budget calculations. Magdalena is fluent in Spanish, Polish, and English. She feels most at home in the mountains.

Pedro Ruiz Funes is an architect working in residential small-scale, as well as medium- and large-scale projects of all kinds. He has been responsible for the full range of development from design to construction, including executive project management. Pedro enjoys the business side of architecture, having been the business contact for clients on multiple projects. He is an ‘ideas founder’ who has taught both architecture and design. At Moya Design Partners, Pedro prepares drawings for internal studies and for clients with advanced skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and VRay.
Pedro has wide experience with architecture competitions. His awards include 1st prize for the Square Municipality of Carlos Paz; 2nd prize for the Rizzuto Museum; 3rd in the Aerosilla Income Arc award for the municipality of Carlos Paz; 1st prize CEC Design of José de Nazaret School in an informal settlement; 1st honorable mention as a collaborator in the national contest for the new headquarters of the College of Architects of Río Cuarto; and 2nd prize in the ASTORI AWARDS Ideas Competition for the development of a school in Barrio Alta Córdoba.
Pedro studied architecture at the Catholic University of Córdoba and the Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio in Madrid. He loves traveling and having local experiences.

Florencia Merguerian is an architect at Moya Design Partners who has led public works projects such as schools, municipal sports centers, and libraries; bank projects for Santander, Itaú, and Original; and projects for multinational companies Unilever, Bayer, and Otis. She has specialized expertise in logistics and warehouses, graphic design projects in clothing, and industrial design of objects. Florencia has worked on residential small-scale, medium- and large-scale architecture projects, including design, graphic design, project management and details. She is an experienced professional in the development of public, industrial, banking, residential and commercial works.
Florencia studied architecture at the National University of Córdoba and undertook postgraduate studies in Geography, City and Architecture at the FAU-USP Faculdade de Arquitetura de São Paulo. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese with technical skills in REVIT, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Draw, SketchUp, and VRay for SketchUp. Florencia considers Brazil her second home.

Carlos Arias is a project designer at Moya Design Partners with technical skills in REVIT and advanced skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, and V-Ray for SketchUp. He is a SET ideas founder working on residential architecture and residential small-scale development. Carlos has experience with executive project management, details and construction. He is an award-winning designer who has captured first prize for a Square for the Municipality of Carlos Paz, first Prize for the CEC Design of José de Nazaret school, second prize for the Rizzuto Museum for the municipality of Carlos Paz, first honorable mention in a contest for the new headquarters of the College of Architects of Río Cuarto with the architects Marco Rampula and Ricardo Sargiotti, and third prize as a collaborator for the construction of the new Paseo Güemes with the architects Gustavo Gonzales, Manuel Gonzales, Adrian Manavella and Guillermo Vegas.

Manuel Bosch is a project designer at Moya design Partners originally from Córdoba, Argentina, with advanced skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketchup, and Lumion. After graduating with a degree in architecture from the National University of Córdoba, Manuel gained experience as a junior architect with purchasing and construction. He has worked on several private developments, including mid-sized offices and shopping centers. A fun fact about Manuel is that he 3D prints his Christmas tree!

Eugenia Alfonso is a project designer at Moya Design Partners with over ten years of experience in architectural design, BIM management, project management, and construction administration for mixed-use development projects in North and South America, as well as Australia and the Middle East. She has participated in the coordination, planning, and technical support of corporate buildings, institutional, commercial, residential, healthcare, airports, and more. From schematic design to construction drawings, Eugenia is an organized, proactive, and responsible team player who is always looking for quality and efficiency. She holds a Bachelor and Master of Architecture from the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design, National University of Córdoba, where she received the University Award for the best academic average of her graduating class of architects and her thesis was recommended for publication. In addition to her work, Eugenia has a passion for travel.

Julieta Martinez is a project architect at Moya Design Partners with technical skills in REVIT, advanced AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and V-Ray for 3ds Max. A recent graduate in architecture from the National University of Córdoba, Julieta has work experience with executive architecture projects. Julieta works with the MOYA team to prepare technical documents, project details and drawings for internal studies. She supports the team with drawings for clients. Maria Monguillot is a project designer at Moya Design Partners with advanced skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, 3ds Max V-Ray, Office, and Bluebeam. She is a 2015 graduate of the Catholic University of Córdoba in architecture. Maria has five years of progressively responsible experience as a junior architect on projects in the U.S. and Australia, including BIM modeling and executive project management. In addition to her work as an architectural designer, Maria is an avid photographer.

Elisabetta Fanelli is a Graphic Designer at Moya Design Partners, where she develops and designs stunning branded elements, unique editorial pieces and striking digital artwork. She also contributes to digital communications, including the planning, strategy and tactics for the firm’s social media channels. Elisabetta approaches her work with a combination of methodical structure, efficiency and creative flair, preferring to sketch designs by hand before translating her concepts into digital format. Her extensive educational background and seven years of impressive design experience allow her to deliver compelling art in all forms, from print designs and branded materials, to web and logo designs.
Originally from Italy, she earned an Executive Masters in Social Media Marketing and Web Communication from IULM University in Milan; received a master’s degree in Architecture from Dessau Institute of Architecture in Germany; completed an Erasmus Exchange in Parametric Architecture from Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris; obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Architecture from Politecnico di Milano in Milan; and completed an Erasmus Mundus Exchange from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City. In her spare time, she likes to teach yoga and practice meditation to stay grounded. Elisabetta also loves to spend time in nature, cook wholesome meals and travel the world. A fun fact about Elisabetta is she started elementary school when she was only four years old and could already read!

Romina Pereyra is a graphic designer with 10 years of experience in advertising agencies and design studios. Romina has a special passion for illustration, especially poster design. As well as being influenced by the history of Polish graphic design, she continues her professional development by attending workshops and classes in contemporary illustration practice. At Moya Design Partners, Romina supports our visual design team with logo design, proposal design, and graphic design for our clients’ marketing and corporate communications. On each project, Romina strives to find the right balance between good design and the perfect message.
Romina graduated from the University of Buenos Aires. She’s a vegan who loves animals and is very fond of soccer, sharing initials with her most-loved team, River Plate! Romina also loves traveling and rock concerts, and if both come together, that’s even better.

Catalina Losada Salgado has more than 12 years of experience in graphic and creative design. She is a highly competent art director and strategic communicator qualified to coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams. With a high sense of responsibility and commitment, Catalina is always in search of excellence and resolution of the objectives to be achieved. She has worked for several publishing houses and magazines in the private sector and specializes in editorial design: magazines, books, and all kinds of print collateral. Catalina is an expert in branding and visual identity—design thinking, branding, logos and advertising for all your print and publishing needs.
In her free time, Catalina enjoys practicing Buddhist meditation and yoga. But her biggest artistic hobbies are lettering and embroidery.

Jhonny Güechá is a visual communicator with 10+ years of experience in digital multimedia design. Jhonny has extensive knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and graphic design. At Moya Design Partners, Jhonny develops original animations according to each project’s unique art concept. He brings expertise in corporate videos, documentaries, short films, music videos, and other artistic and social projects. Jhonny loves music and a natural style of life. He runs a family classic hip-hop project called Versopesado with his wife and young son, presenting educational workshops in schools and communities. A fun fact about Jhonny is he used to draw sequential art in the corners of his school notebooks. Although his teacher didn't like it too much, those were his first animations at elementary school!

Erika Ross is a communications professional and editor with international experience writing for art & design. At Moya Design Partners, Erika develops blog content and makes sure our corporate communications are accurate, consistent, and complete. She fact checks URLs, quotations, timelines, and visual material, ensuring that nothing has been left out. Erika consults with our clients on content and style, proofreads our visual designs, and works on final production editing. Erika studied communications at Ithaca College and holds an MA in Art History & Visual Culture from the University of California, Riverside. She taught art writing for 10+ years at the University of Toronto, Western University, and the Ontario College of Art & Design. A true arts lover, she’s also a painter and photographer and has sung mezzo-soprano roles in eight operas!

Valentina Pérez Estévez is an architect with a passion for urban regeneration, remodeling, and interior design. Her extensive knowledge of graphic design for architecture allows her to visualize exteriors, interiors, and landscapes with both accuracy and sensitivity. At Moya Design Partners, Valentina supports our visual design and architecture teams with drawings, graphics, modeling, and 3D visualization.
She’s a proactive, responsible, and committed collaborator who sees each project as an opportunity to improve lives through architecture. Valentina feels fortunate to have a twin sister. When the two started university, it was fun to explain to everyone that they were two different students attending classes at the same time, not one ‘super girl’ traveling through time!

Olga Glioza is a Public Relations, Marketing and Brand Communications Associate at Moya Design Partners, where she works on strategies and tactics of promotion of the brand and its digital presence. Using her diverse experience in the areas of public relations, creative writing, art project management and social media, she works closely with all firm’s departments to present the ongoing and upcoming projects and connect Moya Design Partners with media outlets and partners in the design and architecture world. She also contributes to the planning and development of firm’s social media channels. Her approach to work is mixing creative inspiration with strict work ethics and punctuality.
Originally from Saint-Petersburg, Russia, Olga holds a Bachelor Degree in International Business and Trade from Xiamen University in China. Speaking four different languages (Russian, English, Spanish and Chinese), she lived and worked in several countries, mastering her professional skills in different areas. She loves traveling and exploring new places, dancing, painting and meeting up with her friends in different parts of the world.

Meredith Kidd is a human resources and administrative professional with experience in almost every field of service. At Moya Design Partners, Meredith handles a variety of administrative functions, manages human resources, and coordinates with the MOYA team to accomplish operational goals. Meredith received a BA in history from Sam Houston State University and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, where she earned a master’s degree in human relations and a graduate certificate in human resource diversity and development. Her favorite activities outside of work include training for triathlons, playing guitar, traveling to Germany, and reading a good book. A fun fact about Meredith is she attended the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and was pictured in Time Magazine watching the newlyweds ride by in their carriage!

Rada Turcanu is a Financial Accountant with over eight years of experience in the private and public sector (Big 4 alum). At Moya Design Partners, Rada takes care of bookkeeping, compliance, issuance of financial statements, HR and Operations. Rada loves to travel and discover new places, from the museum in a nearby town to eating at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Hawai’i, while collecting fridge magnets from every place she visits. (Her goal is to fill the fridge!) Rada loves to cook with wholesome ingredients and enjoy food with her loved ones.
Rada received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Santa Clara University with an accounting major, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Business/ Information Systems from De Anza College.
